Disc-O-Bed is proud to be a family-owned business that focuses not only on being environmentally but also socially sustainable. As a global brand that has a large presence in the outdoor and humanitarian relief space, we take responsibility for caring for each other just as much as we do for the environment. Therefore, we take into consideration the ecological, social, and economic outcomes of the business decisions that we make. In addition to complying with relevant, local legal requirements and recommendations, we also set our own moral standards that we strive to abide by. Our mission is to provide innovative, space-saving sleeping solutions while minimizing our environmental impact and taking social responsibility.
What we do today will have an impact on the future. We commit to the 1,5 °C target of the Paris climate agreement and therefore continuously take action to reduce our own carbon footprint. In 2023, we began to calculate our carbon footprint in accordance to the GHG Protocol and found different ways that we can reduce our footprint. “The GHG Protocol Corporate Standard classifies a company’s GHG emissions into three ‘scopes’. Scope 1 emissions are direct emissions from owned or controlled sources. Scope 2 emissions are indirect emissions from the generation of purchased energy. Scope 3 emissions are all indirect emissions (not included in scope 2) that occur in the value chain of the reporting company, including both upstream and downstream emissions.”
As a business in the outdoor industry, our aim is always to do our part in preserving the wildlife of our beautiful planet.
